This photo is a mystery. There is no inscription on the back and we have no information about it.
The man on the right is my Grandfather, 2nd.Lt.James (Wilkie/Jimmie) Wilkinson. RGA. He was
Gazetted on the Thirteenth of March 1918. "SPECIAL RESERVE. OF OFFICERS. The undermentioned,
from Officer Cadet Units, to be'2nd Lts. 4th Mar. 1918: —" As he is wearing his 'pips' I think we can
assume that the photo was taken after this date.
The man in the middle could be another Artilleryman, there seem to be 'Grenades on his lapels and his
cap badge seems to have a flat section at the bottom. The man on the left is a mystery to us.
